This platform was created by members for members! At this time the costs to run the site are being paid out of pocket by the creator as a way of saying thank you. If at some point the community requests more expensive features such as subscription services or other premium options a small fee may be added for online transactions in the future, but at this point the site is as free as the creator can make it.

The first hatch was 6 females and 12 males. An unfortunate ratio for a person hoping for eggs. After asking numerous groups the founder found it disheartening finding local help. There were plenty of active members scattered across the states, but finding an active member locally was proving time consuming and difficult.
Luckily while the community is small it is also tight-knit and soon two members offered assistance! The cost for help with this first butchering experience? Nothing. While some meat to take home and a future dinner as a thank you was offered, there was no expectation other than that they would be given help if and when they needed it in the future.
Through this experience the three members discussed the need for a centralized platform where animal lovers could connect, share resources, and support one another. This member-driven approach would ensure that the platform is tailored to the community’s specific needs and preferences. So we now have the creation of Quailexchange.com!
